Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program

This is one of the Express entry programs and it is for skilled workers with work experience with the intention of becoming permanent residents of Canada.

Minimum Requirements

The candidate must meet all the minimum requirements in order to be eligible. They must have a:

Proof of  Language with minimum of CLB 7 for all four skills
  • Tested for Reading, writing, listening and Speaking
  • Valid for 2 years after the date of the test result.
  • Meet minimum scores for the 4 skills
  • Enter the test results in Express entry profile
Canadian secondary or post-secondary degree or a completed foreign degree.
  • Foreign Education needs an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)
Score a minimum of 67 out of 100 points in the selection factors includes:
  • Education
  • Age
  • Work Experience
  • Valid Job Offer
  • Language Skills
  • Adaptability
Have required funds for the applicant and accompanying family members. Except:
  • Candidate has a valid job offer from an employer in Canada
  • Legally able to work in Canada
Have Skilled work experience in your primary occupation.
  • Fulltime work: 1 year of continuous work, 30 hours or more (1560 hours)
  • Part time work: 15hours hours, over 2 continuous years (1560 hours)
  • Student work: was paid , continuous and meets other requirements
  • Experience is within the last 10 years
  • Paid work
  • Excludes unpaid internships and volunteer work
Must be allowed to enter Canada. Applicant did not have risks for
  • Security
  • Criminal
  • Medical
