This is a multiple entry visa permitting the applicant to visit their children or grandchildren for a period of 5 years at a time and they are permitted to stay for 10 years in total in Canada. They can also apply for a 2 year extension to their stay while in Canada.
The applicant must be a genuine visitor expected to leave Canada voluntarily at the end of their visit. Applicants may be from a visa required or visa exempt countries. For a visa exempt country, if their application is approved, a letter is issued to them which they present at the port of entry in addition with their supporting documents.
The Super visa application does not include dependants.
